Breitling proudly introduces the new generation of its Chronomat collection. This sports watch has undergone several updates, including new sizes and multiple versions.
Introduced in the 1980s for the Italian Flying Arrows aerobatic team, the Chronomat's design blended bold styling with exceptional performance, withstanding the harsh realities of the cockpit while maintaining a sophisticated and versatile aesthetic. Now, this timepiece makes a triumphant return with subtle improvements, retaining its iconic rider-style lugs and classic Rouleaux bracelet for instant recognition.
The Chronomat is Breitling's ultimate all-around sports watch, meticulously evolved from its 2020 redesign, further solidifying its status as a timepiece that "can do anything, fearlessly conquers any challenge." It skillfully blends classic heritage with modern design, combining precise watchmaking with everyday versatility. Its monocoque case and bracelet design achieves a perfect balance between functionality and visual impact.
The origins of the Chronomat watch can be traced back to 1983, at the height of the quartz crisis and shortly after Ernest Schneider acquired Breitling. The initial Chronomat was developed in collaboration with the French Air Force's Flying Arrows aerobatic team, a sophisticated mechanical chronograph that met both the demanding requirements of aviation and the formalities of modern occasions. With its robust construction capable of withstanding shocks far exceeding those encountered in flight, the watch distinguished itself with its bold proportions and professional-grade performance, while the Rouleaux bracelet offered both comfort and a distinctive visual identity. In 2020, reinterpreted by Breitling's in-house design department, the Chronomat was revitalized with a slimmer case and the return of its iconic bracelet, laying the foundation for its latest evolution. Today, the Chronomat is available in a variety of versions and sizes.

The chronograph’s wearing comfort is significantly improved by reducing the case thickness from 15.1 mm to 13.77 mm. The removal of the 1/100th of a mark on the bezel enhances overall legibility and visual clarity, while the redesigned crown guards are more compact, improving ergonomics and ease of operation when winding or adjusting the watch.
The collection offers a variety of case materials and dial designs. The stainless steel models are available with green, blue, or white dials and contrasting black chronograph subdials. The charcoal grey dial model features a two-tone design, with the crown, pushers, and bezel crafted in red gold; the ice blue dial model uses a combination of stainless steel and platinum. The high-end models in the collection feature a full red gold case with a brown dial, presenting a warmer and more elegant aesthetic.
The watch houses the Breitling in-house B01 movement, a COSC-certified automatic chronometer launched in 2009. This column-wheel movement vibrates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a 70-hour power reserve. Measuring 30 mm in diameter and 7.2 mm thick, the movement comprises 320 parts, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and exceptional reliability.
The watch comes with a rubber strap inspired by Rouleaux models, featuring a stainless steel butterfly clasp; alternatively, a Rouleaux metal bracelet matching the case material is available in stainless steel, red gold, or platinum. All bracelets and straps feature a butterfly clasp and a new patented micro-adjustment system for enhanced comfort and precise fit.
