So this is a bit of a minor annoyance but it's been bugging me for weeks now and I'm hoping someone might have some insight. My 2018 A7 3.0 TDI has been mechanically perfect since I bought it, the ZF 8-speed shifts like butter and I've had zero issues with the transmission itself. But recently I've noticed that the shift knob feels really sticky and sluggish when I move it between positions, almost like there's some resistance or friction that wasn't there before. It doesn't affect the actual shifting at all, the car still goes into gear perfectly, but the physical feel of moving the lever is just not as smooth and satisfying as it used to be. I've tried cleaning around the base of the shifter and making sure nothing is stuck in there, but it hasn't made any difference. I'm wondering if there's some kind of mechanism inside that needs lubrication, or if the cable that connects the shifter to the transmission is starting to bind.
